While you can mash your way through early battles relying only on Ace, the game starts demanding more from you as it goes on, with advanced strategies for countering foes and using your teammates' different weapons in conjunction soon becoming second nature. Type-0 controls a lot like Crisis Core or Final Fantasy X-2, with a fast-paced battle system that rewards good timing along with mastery and knowledge of your skillset and party makeup.
